About

The Authors’ Collective was founded in London in March 2026, by a group of established writers who have written over fifty books between them.

It came about organically.  The original founder, Candida Crewe, considered starting a small press, but discussion with a wider circle of writers gave rise to another idea: authors publishing authors.  The thought of authors banding together to publish each other’s work under a banner that could itself become a brand, seemed enticing, singular and distinctive.

The Authors’ Collective is a cooperative and while members fund the publication of their own books, crucially they retain all their rights and receive all their revenue.

Our commitment is to literary excellence.  We are open to new members (please see our How it Works page for further details), and once accepted into the Authors’ Collective, writers support each other through a professional editorial and publication process.

We launched only recently but have already gained much by joining forces: solidarity, friendship, shared networks and promotional zeal - as well as the joy of being involved in an enterprise that is larger than any one book.
